These are really good photographs. I like this in particular. It captures what a lovely promenade Southport has. The person taking the photo must be stood on some sort of elevated platform - the effect is very pleasing and adds interest. I wonder if they had to walk around whatever the photographer was on? The lady on the left of the man with the bowler hat on turns to look at the camera at a very opportune moment - and is forever captured in this moment in time.
Absolutely brilliant!

I certainly do like the others! I find these old photos very interesting. I think Southport ( Or a postcard company ) had a very good photographer with a very good eye for composition and could also brings people to life. Making you want to be in Southport on a sunny day and walk down the Prom' I hope there is plenty more to come. People who live in Southport must have loads of photographs that could be put on this website. Southport's very own time machine.
